GREENSBORO- Norman Samuel Ziglar, 86,
died peacefully Saturday morning, March 17, 2007. He was born on
February 28, 1921 in Greensboro, NC to Samuel V. and Daisy Holder
Ziglar of Greensboro.
A memorial service will be held at 2
p.m. today at Forbis & Dick Guilford Chapel. The family will
receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral
home.
Mr. Ziglar was a retired insurance
agent with Lumber Mutual Fire Insurance Company. During World War
II, he proudly served in the U.S. Army in the 686 Ordinance
Ammunition Company which was recruited in Guilford County shortly
after Pearl harbor. He was stationed in Italy and North Africa. He
was also very active in his army reunion chapter. Mr. Ziglar was a
lifelong resident of Greensboro and attended Greensboro Senior High
School.
He is survived by his wife of 60
years Katherine Sineath Ziglar of the home, and his daughter Norma
Ziglar Helser and son-in-law, Russell Helser of Raleigh. Mr. Ziglar
is also survived by his sister Eva Mae Watts of Sun City,
California, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his six
other siblings, Ben Ziglar of Statesville, Margaret Ziglar Keener of
Canton, N.C., Lillian Ziglar Ward of Greensboro, and T.M. Ziglar,
Raymond Ziglar, and his identical twin brother Allan Ziglar all of
Los Angeles, California.
